Tasting Notes ~ The fruit used for Queen D comes from a single vineyard in Oregon - The Cowhorn Vineyard, a pristine biodynamic vineyard in the heart of Applegate Valley. It's an ideal site for Rhône varietals, with its rocky, well-drained river bench soils, warm temperatures, and dry growing seasons. The 2018 Queen D is a vibrant expression of Marsanne and Roussanne in equal parts. Aromas of mandarin orange, lemon liqueur, dried peaches and apricots, and white honeysuckle give way to the surprisingly tense palate. While the richness of fruit is certainly forefront, the acidity provides a refreshing backbone to the flavor profile.
