Domaine de Fa'Another Legend in the making'We don't often get the chance to taste the efforts of living legends in the wine world.  Beaujolais grown and made by the Graillot family, organic vineyards that sit at high altitude, antique winemaking and just all around amazing wine.  This wine soulfully displays old world sensibilities with a future so bright, we had to grab what we could. If you like Gamay, or are just a fan of honest, old school red wines, this bottling of Beaujolais is for you!
The Graillot family needs little introduction with a long history of producing some of the longest lived and most delicious wine in the Northern Rhone. Alain Graillot was a legendary producer in  Crozes-Hermitage, and with his recent passing the torch has been handed off to his sons Maxime and Antoine.The legendary Graillot family has a long history of making wine in the Northern Rhone, where their ability to produce some of the most age-worthy and delicious Syrah is matched by only a select few producers. Owner and winemaker for both Domaine des Lises and Domaine Alain Graillot, Maxime Graillot and his brother Antoine, decided to look North in order to satiate their immense hunger for new challenges that extend beyond the dramatic slopes of the Rhone Valley. Their love of Gamay led them to the bucolic vistas of Beaujolais.
2019 Domaine de Fa 'En Besset' Beaujolais Since a very young age, the brothers spent most summers in the family’s summer home in the village of Faye (also known as “Fa”) and have a deep love for the area. After years of searching in vain for the right vineyards for their domaine...4 hectares of En Besset, a plot that is contiguous with Côtes de Besset in Sant-Amour, classified as Beaujolais due to its northern exposure.With the vines purchased, Maxime and Antoine converted their old summer cottage into a fully gravity-fed micro-winery and changed the farming practices to biodynamics. The wines are vinified in concrete with whole bunches, semi-carbonically, using indigenous yeasts. Élevage is done in large old foudre for 10-12 months and the wines are bottled unfined and unfiltered.
