2 Great Chateauneuf Du Pape Estate wines from 1 Great Vintage

2 Great Chateauneuf Du Pape Estate wines from 1 Great Vintage

As Fall arrives it’s time to revisit a few of our favorite wines in the shop, the 2015 Chateau de Vaudieu "L'Avenue" and 2015 Chateau de Beaucastel Chateauneuf du Pape wines. Both wines are from the appellation but there the similarities end. The Chateau de Vaudieu is 100% Grenache, grown in the heart of the appellation, and Chateau de Beaucastel from the northern part of the appellation uses all 13 varietals permitted in the making of Chateauneuf du Pape. Both are among the finest examples of Chateauneuf du Pape available and both carry some of the highest ratings given in the 2015 vintage.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate  92 pts

The 2015 Maremma Toscana Le Sughere di Frassinello is a great value blend of 50% Sangioveto, 25% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon (aged in French oak for one year). This wine boasts a proven track record for its consistent value and accessibility and can be counted on for both. It releases a steady flow of dark fruit and spice aromas that build in momentum. The mouthfeel is generous and softly velvety in texture, especially in this warm vintage.
